Disabled American Veterans
Disabled American Veterans (DAV), is a nonprofit organization representing veterans disabled during time of war or
armed conflict. Formed in 1920 and chartered by Congress in 1932, DAV is the official voice of America's service-connected
disabled veterans, their families and survivors. Its nationwide network of services -- free of charge to all veterans and
members of their families.
Veterans of Foreign Wars
Veterans of Foreign Wars membership includes veterans from four wars and active-duty service members who have been
involved in expeditionary campaigns. Truman saw VFW membership as a "source of pride and personal satisfaction because of
the high ideals that have been exemplified throughout the lifetime of the VFW."
